Bootleg Rascal are a Sydney-based band comprising of long-time collaborators and friends Carlos Lara and Jimmy Young.
Taking cues from the likes of staple influences Gorillaz, Kid Cudi and Massive Attack, the group combine an eclectic mix of hip hop, reggae, indie-rock, dub and electronica; all while simultaneously delivering a cohesive sound they make their own.
Since their mid-2013 inception, Bootleg Rascal have released a slew of singles, an EP and two albums, all of which were warmly received globally by critics and fans alike. Multiple tracks and videos have been supported by Spotify, Apple Music, MTV, Rage and added to high rotation on triple j, as well as performing on the stations esteemed ‘Like a Version’ segment.
Bootleg Rascal have continually traversed the globe playing multiple sold out headline shows in France, UK, Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand and Australia, and have performed sold out shows in the USA. They’ve also regularly appeared on major Australian festivals including Falls Festival, The Big Pineapple Festival, Lost Paradise, Hills are Alive, Festival of the Sun and Party in the Paddock.
In 2019, the band will aim to undergo a period of exploration, as they transition into the new era of Booty. What won’t change is the light-hearted fun approach they’ve always had – it’s just time to turn up the party another notch, really.
Bootleg Rascal also enjoy tacos, tequila shots and watching re-runs of Fresh Prince of Bel Air. See, we told you we’re still the old stoopid Booty you always knew x
Sydney’s all female outfit The Buoys have been making noise around Australia releasing a slew of singles and backing up shows with artists such as JUNGLE, DMA’s, DZ Deathrays, The Garden, Shannon & the Clams, Moaning Lisa, Peter Bibby, and Pist Idiots. Influenced by anything fuzzy, loud and fast, The Buoys recognisable sweet and savoury sound has developed in the last 12 months, allowing them to truly settle into their sound, paving the way for fiery anthems whilst still making time for those cruisey heart jerking songs.
The Buoys are set to embark on a complete national tour with DZ Deathrays for October 2019, followed by a string of festivals (Lost Paradise and Festival of the Sun, Fairgrounds and Grampians) in the lead up to 2020 which will see The Buoys release a sophomore EP.

McDermott & North
McDermott & North are an acoustic, song writing duo from Brisbane who draw inspiration from the ingenious simplicity of the swinging 60’s era music. Their folk/indie pop songs, complete with catchy melodies and coated with lush harmonies, present the perfect mix of the Beatles meets Dope Lemon.
Steadily growing since their inception in 2016, Patrick McDermott and Rhys North formed ‘McDermott and North’ after a chance meeting at an open mic night. Since then, they’ve graced the stages of Hidden Lanes Festival, Caloundra Music Festival and Bluesfest Byron Bay – as a finalist in the Bluesfest Busking Competition 2019.
They’re touring the east coast this March in support of their single ‘Everytime (I’m A Little Bit Like You)’.
